The BUGarium is approximately 3,500 sf and sits adjacent to the Bio-lab at the Rio Grande Botanical Gardens. This sensory exhibit encourages visitors to explore the unseen complexities and success of insects from around the world. NCA provided full programming and design of this unique indoor/outdoor facility. The building design, which resembles a dragon fly wing, was inspired by the Botanic Gardens’ Dragon Fly Pond. This conceptual architectural approach further enhances the Botanic Gardens’ mission, to provide an educational and entertaining environment that immerses the visitor.
