The 94,600 sf US Forest Service (USFS) headquarters accommodates 21 offices, large conference areas, file storage, room to house the USFS computer and server requirements, as well as open office space to accommodate six different departments. The building’s design provides the USFS with a facility that will accommodate departmental growth over time, with flexibility and efficiency.
Green building considerations were applied to site features, landscaping, and building techniques. The building surroundings provide access to outdoor recreational areas, water efficient landscaping and connection to adjacent facilities. The site also features car pool parking spaces for 5% of the total parking area, bike racks, and access to Albuquerque’s mass transportation system.
